Education and early career

She studied on a classical flute scholarship and earned a BA in English literature from UC Santa Cruz.[1]

Her early work was in global health and politics. She worked on a congressional campaign in Pennsylvania, and she was a communications manager for Rep. Matt Cartwright.[1]

She joined Stripe in 2013 as an early employee.[1]

Main contributions

She joined OpenAI in 2018. There she managed the team during the development of GPT-2 and became vice president of safety and policy. She left OpenAI in 2020.[1]
