Mistral AI agrees to acquire physics-AI company Emmi AI
On 23 May 2026 Mistral AI said it had agreed to acquire Emmi AI, an Austrian physics-AI company whose large engineering models simulate power grids, injection moulding and car safety tests; more than 30 staff, including co-founder Johannes Brandstetter, are joining.
Mistral AI acquires Koyeb
In February 2026, Mistral AI acquired Koyeb, a Paris-based startup offering high-performance serverless infrastructure. It was Mistral's first acquisition and brought 13 employees, with Koyeb's product and expertise to support environments such as sandboxes and MCP servers.
Hugging Face acquires humanoid-robot maker Pollen Robotics
On 14 April 2025 Hugging Face acquired Pollen Robotics, the Bordeaux maker of the Reachy 2 humanoid robot, in the AI company's first move into hardware; the price was not disclosed.
Google acquires DeepMind
On 26 January 2014 Google confirmed its acquisition of DeepMind, the London AI company founded in 2010. The deal brought a small deep-learning research group known for Atari-playing systems into Google and set up a unit later merged with Google Brain.
