What it is

Kling 2.5 Turbo is a version of Kling AI, the video generation model line from Kuaishou Technology. It was released at the end of September 2025[1] and, like the other models in the family, turns written prompts and still images into short video clips — the two tasks usually described as text-to-video and image-to-video.

What changed

Kuaishou summarised the advance in four areas: prompt adherence, dynamics, style consistency and visual aesthetics[1].

In plain terms, prompt adherence is how faithfully a generated clip follows what the user asked for — whether the requested subject, action and camera movement actually show up in the output. Dynamics is about motion: how objects and people move inside the shot, and whether that movement looks natural rather than stiff or smeared. Style consistency is whether the look of the video holds together — the same lighting, colour and rendering — instead of drifting from frame to frame. Visual aesthetics is the overall image quality of the result.

Cost was the other half of the release. Kuaishou said the 2.5 Turbo Model reinforced Kling AI's overall cost-efficiency advantages, and that it cut creators' per-video generation cost by nearly 30%[1]. Video generation is charged by the clip, so for anyone producing many videos — short-form creators, advertisers, small studios — a reduction of that size changes how much experimenting is affordable before settling on a final take.

Reception

Ten days after launch, Artificial Analysis ranked it the world's No. 1 text-to-video and image-to-video model[1]. Artificial Analysis is a benchmarking outfit that compares generative models side by side, so the ranking reflects how the model performed against contemporary competitors on measured evaluations rather than on a single demonstration reel.

Where it sits in the line

Announcing its third-quarter results, Kuaishou's CEO said that in September 2025 the company unveiled the Kling AI 2.5 Turbo Model, maintaining its global leadership[1]. The same results put Kling's revenue above RMB 300 million in the third quarter of 2025[1]. Kuaishou also said it continued to advance Kling's foundation models and developed more innovative features during the third quarter[1].

The 2.5 Turbo generation did not stay at the top of the line for long. Kling Video 2.6 was released on 3 December 2025[2], and it moved the product in a different direction: instead of concentrating only on visual quality, it generates visuals, voiceovers, sound effects and ambient sound in one pass[2]. It supports Chinese and English voice generation for videos up to 10 seconds long[2].

Why it matters

Kling 2.5 Turbo is a useful marker of where AI video stood in late 2025. Two things happened at once: quality measured on public leaderboards reached the top of the field, and the cost of producing a single clip fell sharply. The next model in the line then shifted the problem from making silent footage look good to producing a complete audiovisual clip in one step, with speech, sound effects and background audio generated together. Read in sequence, the two releases describe a field moving quickly from "can it render the shot?" to "can it deliver something you could publish as is?"

Kuaishou treats the model as part of a continuing programme rather than a one-off launch, which is why the company frames each version in terms of both capability and efficiency, and reports Kling's revenue alongside it.
