Figure reported that its Figure 02 robots spent 11 months on an active assembly line at BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, loading more than 90,000 parts and contributing to production of more than 30,000 X3 vehicles.
On 4 February 2025, Figure ended its collaboration agreement with OpenAI. Brett Adcock cited integration problems and said Figure had built end-to-end robot AI in-house, while pointing to BMW and a new large customer.

On 18 January 2024, Figure announced a commercial agreement with BMW Manufacturing to deploy general-purpose robots in car production, starting with a few tasks at BMW's Spartanburg plant and expanding only if milestones were met.
