On 28 May 2026 Mistral merged Le Chat into Vibe: one agent and one licence spanning work and code, adding Work Mode and sandboxed Code Mode, four tiers, and the retirement of the old Chat mode.
In January 2026 OpenAI began testing ads in ChatGPT for free adult users in the US, later extending them to its Go tier. Ads appeared in March 2026, and by August the ad business was at a $1 billion annualised run rate.

On 4 September 2024 Baidu upgraded and renamed its ERNIE Bot app as Wenxiaoyan (文小言), repositioning it as a "new search" assistant that combines search with text, image and multimodal generation.
In September 2024, ChatGPT Plus and Team subscribers got Advanced Voice Mode, a real-time spoken conversation feature built on GPT-4o. Its rollout, the removal of one of its launch voices, and its later replacement trace how voice became a default part of ChatGPT.
In March 2024 Moonshot AI opened a closed beta of its Kimi assistant with a 2 million Chinese character context window, roughly ten times what the chatbot handled at launch, and gave it to invited users first.
